It’s not a merger. It’s a friendly competition.

I do not want to hurt any body’s feelings or insult any of the teams (LNA, I’m talking to you). I am just saying why we are not going to merge teams. All of the opinions in these interviews are the opinions of the people being interviewed and NOT necessarily the opinion of The Legend Team and/or its members or supporters.

Team members from Project B.U.I.L.D. have been asking me to merge their team with ours. I have thought about it, and I have made a decision. No. We am not merging. Now, don’t think mean thoughts, because here are the reasons I am not merging. I interviewed Brickenneer from The Nexus Project Wiki (which has already merged with BUILD), the leader of Project BUILD, Cdmpants, and PatchM142 (the co-founder of BUILD).

Rioforce: Hello, Brickenneer!

Brickenneer: Hey.

Rioforce: First question: What is the Nexus Project?

Brickenneer: The Nexus Project was started by redboy.

Rioforce: Ok, and what is the purpose of the project?
Brickenneer: Basically, we are doing concept art for Project BUILD. There is no guarantee that any of it will actually make it ingame, however.

Rioforce: So it is true that you merged with Project BUILD.

Brickenneer: Yes. Most people upon being asked what they thought of the merge were surprised that we weren’t already merged.

Rioforce: About how many people are in the Nexus Project?

Brickenneer: About fifteen, give or take a few.

Rioforce: What is the story line for Nexus Project/Project BUILD?

Brickenneer: That’s a closely guarded secret.
Only Hollis, Machine, Goggles, and a few others know what it is.

Rioforce: So how are people supposed to be interested in the game if they don’t know what it is? And how are you supposed to draw concept if you don’t know the story?

Brickenneer: We are making concept art for worlds, not the story.
Well, Sentinals will be pleased to hear about Castle World which may soon be renamed Ashlar.
Venture Leaguers will be pleased to visit Isla Perdida.

Rioforce: Is your game one of the many LEGO Universe Remakes?

Brickenneer: TNPW is not a LU remake.
That was something decided at the beginning.
We are trying to make something almost like a sequel, but not quite.

Rioforce: What modeling programs are you using?

Brickenneer: Blender and Unity.

Rioforce: I see. How do you feel about other teams that are making games like The Legend Team or LEGO Nexus Adventures?

Brickenneer: Although the Legend Team seems to be doing a good job with whatever it is that they are doing since they quit their LU remake, most of us feel that LNA is doomed to failure.
There is more to making a game than pictures of things made in LDD

Rioforce: I see a lot of LEGO Digital Designer pictures on your wiki too, what is with that?

Brickenneer: LDD is currently what we are using for our concept pictures. We have people actually rendering things, but LDD is all that most of the concept team has access too.

Rioforce: Do you use drawings for concept art too or just LDD?

Brickenneer: Yes, we accept drawings, just so long as they are legible, and not sloppy.

Rioforce: I hear you have something called “Fan Members”. Tell me about that.

Brickenneer: It’s our fan members page. It’s for people who want to join, but haven’t yet shown they have the skills to be put on the team page.

Rioforce: Cool! Thanks for the interview and your time!

Brickenneer: Thank you! It was a pleasure!

Rioforce: What is Project BUILD?

Cdmpants: Project B.U.I.L.D. is a computer game where players are able to build LEGO models in LEGO Digital Designer, upload them into the game, then explore their LEGO creations as a Minifigure.
B.U.I.L.D. stands for Building Up Immense LEGO Dimensions

Rioforce: About how many people are in the Project?

Cdmpants: We have a rigger, a animator/co-director, a rigger/animator, a programmer, a writer, a concept artist, and another co-director.

Rioforce: What does the The Nexus Project do for you since you merged?

Cdmpants: We have officially been merged for months.
However, no one seemed to know that until recently.

Cdmpants: The Nexus Project Wiki is a place where people can upload creations, concept art, pictures, and stories.
It is not exactly officially part of the game.

Rioforce: Ok
What is the story line for Nexus Project/Project BUILD?
Well, specifically Project BUILD

Cdmpants: Project B.U.I.L.D. is about scientists from Earth artificially animating LEGO Minifigures and sending them to the LEGO Earth for “experiments”.
However, the scientists are actually trying to do more than just perform experiments there.
They are basically trying to “take over the LEGO world”
The player starts out in a LEGO bin in someone’s room.
They were accidentally mistaken as a normal Minifigure, instead of a scientifically animated one.

Rioforce: What modeling programs are you using?

Cdmpants: I am using 3ds Max for animation, rigging, and modeling.
So is Mysterygoo, one of our riggers.
Goggles99, a rigger/animator, uses Blender.

Rioforce: I see. How do you feel about other teams that are making games like The Legend Team or LEGO Nexus Adventures?

Cdmpants: I regret to say this, and I hope I don’t spark any arguments, but I personally doubt LEGO Nexus Adventures will go too far.

Rioforce: I see a lot of LEGO Digital Designer models up for download on your site, what is with that?

Cdmpants: Those models are not official models that will make it into the game.
People can upload LEGO Digital Designer models onto the Project B.U.I.L.D. website, there they are manually added into the downloads.

Rioforce: I see. Well, thanks for your time! It was a pleasure interviewing you!

Cdmpants: Yes, it was a pleasure giving people more information on the project.

PatchM142’s Story:

Minifigs enter the world every day. Once they’re touched by the hand of their master, they awaken.
But minifigs don’t really like being played like toys.
They create an alternate dimension.
The point of the game is helping them sustain the dimension so it doesn’t collapse and turn them back into powerless toys.

Oh, that actually reminds me of something we discussed:
Perhaps scientists were aware of the minifig dimension, and are trying to steal the technology for humans. We talked about them being possible enemies at one point.

Here are the reasons The Legend team is not merging with Project BUILD:

  1. We are already an established team.
  2. Looking at how The Nexus Project merged, says they are making concept art, doesn’t know the story or plan, but Project BUILD is not accepting any of that art, what kind of a job would we get?
  3. The Story: The Nexus Project doesn’t know the story, Cdmpants has a story, and Patch thinks he knows the story, but due to miscommunication, nobody knows the real story!
  4. Our goal: We are not trying to create a LEGO Universe remake, we are making a brand new game from scratch. The Nexus Project thinks that they are making a sequel, but BUILD is not doing that.
  5. Main point: Our team is doing a completely different thing than the other teams, so we’ll just stay separate and have a friendly competition.
